Shortly after Donald Trump became President of the United States, a massive wave of anti-Semitic threats swept across the country, marking the largest spike in anti-Semitic incidents in the past 40 years. For several months, thousands of Jewish community centers were evacuated daily due to “bomb threats,” which dominated every news channel in America at the time.
This 6-minute short film is my attempt to explore the perspective of the man behind these threats, known in Israel as “The Hacker from Ashkelon.” The project combines investigative storytelling with a cinematic approach to examine fear, identity, and responsibility.
This was my final project for the Visual Communications program at Bezalel Academy, Jerusalem, and it was selected for multiple film festivals.
